... and when I say love/hate, i mean more of hate. Snow. I love you when you cancel school and I can go sledding and play and have snow ball battles with my roommate and drink hot chocolate and things like that. I hate you when you cancel my flights home from Europe, cancel lacrosse tournaments, and make practice in the gym instead of outside. Oh and I hate how my boots have been perpetually wet from you since last weekend. Anyways, it snowed last weekend and last night here in da BOROOOOOO which normally I'd think that was awesome but I was really looking forward to our tournament this weekend (ahem Queens we have some unsettled business with you from last year) and I'm kind of bummed it is being moved to next weekend. But what can you do when Mother Nature decides to have her way with good ole North Cackalacky. Also a two hour long practice in the gym is not choice, especially when we have a beautiful turf to play on (alas it is currently covered in a mixture of snow and ice... thus rendering it unable to use... hence why we are inside). But its alright, I guess we should be expecting this since the groundhog did see his shadow the other day (darn you and the 6 more weeks of winter).
Anyways the past week we really haven't been able to practice outside and have been trying to make due with what we can. On Tuesday we crunched snow! Meaning us and the guys team went out and walked around on the turf trying to make it melt easier so we could get out and play. Lucky for us it did and we were able to get out on the turf on Thursday night for a late 7-9 (brrrrr) practice. Here are some choice pictures from our crunching adventure. Also I might also add that the boys kind of just wandered around and threw snowballs at Summer and didn't do anything while we did most of the work. Lazy boys.
Another fun filled Guilford event was the mens basketball game vs. Hampden Sydney. It was easily the best game of the season this year and totally rocked! Pretty much how it all went down was that they had a kid that shot the sickest 3s and some pretty decent players otherwise and they shut down a couple of our key players... oh and they were super dirty (like they'd been rolling around in mud all day) and did not play fair at all. Anyways, they brought a huge student section but our student section was infinitely better. We all dressed up super preppy (if you know anything about HSC... its an all boys school and they wear bow ties to class... hence us dressing preppy). It was pretty fabulous if I do say so myself. However it was kind of scary how we all looked like little Stepford Wives in the making. But all is well now, we put our pearls and Sperrys away for now.
I'm pretty sure that's all the news here. Last weekend Carrie and I held true to our Sunday tradition of pies and Dexter (don't worry season 1 is down, and we are 1/2 way through season 2... thank you snow day) and made a chocolate peanut butter cup pie. We are awesome, clearly.
Peace
