Snow: It may be pretty at first, but don't let it confuse you. It turns into the Guilford Womens Basketball teams worst nightmare. Just kidding, of course. This past weekend we were only trapped in the Holiday Inn in downtown Lynchburg from Friday night through Sunday morning. And the majority of us were not equipped for the bad weather. It made for great team bonding, but it also cause for some chaos. Nonetheless, we made it back to Guilford to find a snow-covered campus and we were hoping to have no school but we weren't that fortunate. We did have a 2-hour delay so my 8:30 class was canceled but a snow day would have been nice.
Our season is in the most intense part. We are playing a lot of really good teams. But one thing that is really interesting is that we are one of those teams that contends every night. We have the will to win our games and I think that in the coming weeks we are going to be handed opportunities to become one of the top teams in the ODAC but it's only if we WANT to. See, people look at our team and under estimate because we have a lack of size or a lack of skill. But really when you look at a team their is only one thing that you any team needs to be successful and that is heart. The desire to win, to have a common goal and each person set their sights on it to get it done. We have that. And that's what we hope to show.
So this weekend should be pretty exciting for a number of reasons. A) Friday night is Pink Zone game. B) Saturday is Senior Day. and the most important of ALL C) my little brother gets to spend the night on campus! He is nine years old so this is a BIG deal for him and something we have talked about doing forever. I'm excited to spend some quality time with him this weekend, it has been far too long and we haven't seen each other in forever. So, if you are a Guilford student, staff member or just someone who reads this please come out this weekend and support us to two big victories over Bridgewater and EMU.

"Numbers are funny. They can measure you, time you, analyze you all they want. But they all know what really matters is how you play the game. Have you ever heard the expression: They can't measure heart? Well, the truth is they can't measure any of it. Heart, want, need. They can hold you down all they want but they can't measure a dream" - Anonymous
