"Don't bend; don't water it down; don't try to make it logical; don't edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly." — Franz Kafka
One year later...
Well to all of you who are just reading my blog for the first time... Hello!
My name is Megan, and I'm currently a junior at Guilford. Woot! Upperclassman! I'm currently taking three summer classes this summer, Contemporary Chinese Society in Film, Masterpieces of the Cinema, and Women in Modern Japan. I'm an English major with a concentration in writing/creative writing, with two minors East Asian Studies and Communications. With luck I'll be knocking out my East Asian Studies minor this summer.
I also do work study in the New Garden Admissions Office on campus under the senior admissions counselor. If you've stopped by on a Saturday morning for a campus tour and info session, yes, that was me working behind the desk. In addition to working in the admissions office, this summer I am working in the Campus Life office since I am also an Orientation Leader. So I get the best of both worlds from Admissions and Campus life.
And on top of all of this I am a local student. I graduated from Page High a local high school in the area. So I know my Greensboro facts too.
And to everyone returning to reading my blog again, Hi! Yes it's true a year later... I've changed my major from History to English. I knew this was going to happen, but with my minor East Asian Studies, I might as well be a History major with a concentration of East Asia. And hey, I've picked up a new minor Communications!
So in all honesty, I still have yet to decide what I want to do as far as a job after Guilford but I know I'll always be writing on the side. I've been looking into some graduate programs to receive an MFA in Creative Writing. Can you image the idea of me going to grad-school? Though the more I think about it I can see myself becoming an Admissions Counselor or working in a Campus Life department somewhere.
Okay my lovely readers, I'll be back in a couple of days, so take care of yourselves, be safe, be well, and be you!
