I just ate a deliciously cheap and tasty lunch at the Imperial College Student Pub (I don't think that is its actual name, but for this purpose it seems to fit). I went with Kelsey, Walter, and Shauna. It was nice to be in a more calm environment to get to know one another. I really like both Shauna and Walter, I think they both have a lot to offer to this program, and as Shauna keeps reminding us, we really are here for each other, and whether we intended to or not, in a sense we are all automatic friends, because we are in the same situation. It was relaxing and nice outside, just a lovely lunch.
This morning we were fed to the max with information about FIE, London, tipping, transportation, basically all that we need to know, and yet, I am aware it can't possibly be everything. We were given our class schedule, a list of events that FIE is putting on for us at subsidized prices, a theatre ticket ( I will be seeing 39 steps next Thursday evening), our Oyster card (!), and ID card. A lot of little things that I must not lose!
I am a bit tired, deciding whether I should take a nap (probably the best thing to do), or go out and get some correct adapters so that I can charge electronics. Either way I have to go back at 4 for the internship orientation.
I will admit that it feels weird to have this be so public. I just noticed that my stomach got a bit tight when I saw a link to this blog on Guilford's main site. I am not a very public person, so this will take a little while to get used to. But for now I will continue to breathe through it, keep having fun, and exploring and plunging in to every opportunity here!
Be well everyone.
