Hello, Hello!
So here I am...sitting on my bed, figuring out how I will get to Costco (to pick up medication) realizing that David has the membership card with him...so it will be a bit of an obstacle to enter. However, this little snag in my plan has allowed me to start this blog. And so it shall begin...
Let's get the basics down and out of the way. I am entering my Junior year at Guilford College, and instead of spending it with students that I have grown to love and respect -- I am choosing to board a plane (well 2) and head over to the United Kingdom, with a group of 12 other Guilford peers (my best friend included!) to have what I hope to be an unforgettable semester in London! I will be taking a total of three courses the first half of the semester, and then after fall break I will start an internship. You all will have to join me with anticipation and nail biting when it comes to finding out what my internship will be...I won't know until, well, possibly until a few days before I start. That concludes the academic/serious side of this trip....
Sure I am looking forward to my classes and internship...But I really can't wait to travel (anywhere and everywhere that my pretty little money can take me), shop (not going to lie here), EAT, and well yes enjoy going to Pub's and Clubs (let's not forget that this will be the first time I am legally allowed to drink...it's a big moment for me...but one that I will enjoy in a safe and responsible way of course).
So the future looks good, exciting, lots of possibilities...But first I must finish packing. I actually think I am set, I have the basic clothes, all my electronic stuff (camera, phone iPod, etc), toothbrusth...what am I missing? Does one ever feel really complete when packing?
I can confidently say that I am ready to go! and I welcome you to this blog, I hope to document my experiences, high and lows, as I manage the next few months away from my family and close friends, oh and include pictures, lots of pictures! I totally without hesitation invite you to live vicariously through this blog so that you too can experience being a 20 year old college student going to London for 4 months!
Please enjoy the ride....I'll post again when I have arrived!
