New Database: Archives Grid

Through NC-LIVE, Hege Library now provides full access to Archives Grid.  This databases assists in locating sources in archival institutions around the world.  Learn more by reading a fuller description or try it out by going to our Databases page.

Note:  Archives Grid does not include the manuscript resources available in Guilford 's Friends Historical Collection.  Contact us at archives@guilford.edu to learn more about unique primary sources held in Hege Library.

Save your WorldCat searches

Do you have a specific subject you love reading about, like hobbies, specific authors or formats? If you have to repeatedly craft a specific search around one of these areas to "see what's new," this new feature on WorldCat.org will save you lots of time. Just go to www.WorldCat.org, do a search and refine your query as usual. Once you have the results set you want, click the "Save this Search" box in the upper right of the results screen. Now you can track the latest materials available on this topic in our library, and more than 10,000 other WorldCat libraries around the world.

American History in Video -- Free Access through April 30

American History in Video is live! And now, through April 30th, it's free on the Web at the URL below.
Since launching this online collection of streaming video, we've been inundated with trial requests. So, we've decided to make it as easy as possible for everyone to take a look.
This new online resource for teaching and research is growing to include thousands of rare newsreels from 1929 through the 1960s, including the entire series of both Universal and United. You'll also find the historic Longine Chronoscope broadcasts and hundreds of hours of documentaries from leading producers such as The History Channel®.

Freely access the entire collection on the Web now through Thursday, April 30th.
